Meet Dr. Khan

Mohammad Usman Nasir Khan, M.D.

F.A.C.S., F.S.V.S., F.S.C.A.I.

Dr. M. Usman Nasir Khan is an American Board of Surgery and Vascular Surgery certified vascular surgeon with advanced endovascular skills. He is the Medical Director of the Vascular and Vein Center of New Jersey (VVCNJ) and has over 10 years of Clinical experience. Initially as staff, and then as Chief of Vascular Surgery at Jersey Shore Medical Center (JSUMC), Dr. Nasir Khan continues to be a leader in the development of a Vascular Surgery program. He is also on staff at Bayshore Medical Center. During his tenure as chief of vascular surgery:

  • Dr. Nasir Khan performed the very first successful total percutaneous abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR).
  • JSUMC was awarded the Center of Excellence in performance of the EVAR surgery mentioned above.
  • Dr. Nasir Khan has been actively involved in novel research at JSUMC as the principal investigator in several clinical trials, including:
    • The LIFE trial, a prospective, multi-center trial in the US evaluating the primary device used in a percutaneous EVAR.
    • The Ranger-II trial, a prospective randomized clinical trial evaluating the use of a drug-coated versus standard balloon angioplasty in patients with lesions located in superficial femoral and proximal popliteal arteries. He initiated the first Premarket and Pre-FDA approval trial at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
    • Dr. Nasir Khan became the second surgeon in the state of New Jersey to offer and successfully perform the state-of-the-art TCAR procedure (Trans Carotid Artery Revascularization).
    • Dr. Nasir Khan was awarded Physician Champion and JSUMC was awarded Center of Excellence in performing the TCAR procedure in 2018 and 2019.
