COVID-19 Update: Practice Policy and Response

Vascular & Vein Center of New Jersey has resumed elective surgeries at our office and at Jersey Shore Medical Center.  These procedures will resume in accordance with a lift on restrictions starting on May 26. As always, we can perform more urgent operations at any time.

Our practice will remain open and continues to perform scheduled procedures, unless patients request otherwise. Telemedicine consults will be available for patients if preferred over in-office consults. Virtual consults can be held over a computer with a webcam and most mobile devices. If a patient prefers an in-office consult, an appointment is required and can easily be scheduled. To ensure social distancing guidelines are followed, patient and staff intake has been limited during the day and a no-companion policy has been implemented.

To minimize the risk of acquiring or spreading COVID-19 infection, our practice will adhere to the following prevention guidelines and regulations.

1. Patients will be screened for fever upon entrance and required to fill out and sign a conditions form, which will ensure that the patient is not ill, showing symptoms of illness and/or has not been exposed to someone who is or was ill.
2. Patients will be medically cleared by their primary care physician when and IF applicable. 
3. Patient testing before elective procedures will be conducted for surgeries scheduled at the hospital.
4. All staff will self-monitor and screen for COVID-19 symptoms daily.
5. Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. mask and gloves) and conservation techniques in accordance with the CDC and AAAASF will be followed.
6. Disinfecting routines (e.g. door knobs, waiting areas, restrooms) will be heightened to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 antibodies.
